In May I visited a lot of new spots so here are my reviews on them....
Piranha's Killer Sushi (Arlington)
When i went to Arlington for the Warrior Dash, Toneisha and I had our little adventure day and she took me here since she knew i hadnt had sushi in awhile. They are known for their "Sexy" Roll and "Marry Me" roll. I ordered the sexy roll and well it wasnt necessarily sexy but it was delicious. It had mango on it and the sweet combined with the hot from siracha was awesome. Toneisha ordered their HUGE Mexican roll which she was nice enough for me to try as well.
The restaurant was small and quaint. it reminded me of the size of Sushi Zushi in Stone Oak. I liked their material choices from a design standpoint. I'd totally go again....
Fuzzy's tacos (arlington)
That night we met up with Braden and brandon and checked out the place. I think i had their fajitas which were pretty good. I wasnt disappointed but i wasnt overly impressed either. It was definitely a fun hangout place with people our age to get a cheap dinner and have some drinks. I like casual laid back places like this and well so did everyone there... it was packed!
Mia Bella ( Houston Pavilions)
My friend/mentor at work took me to eat lunch here one day for a mentor lunch. The restaurant is really pretty, nice, but the tables are a little crammed together and i think they have some ventillation problems because by the end of lunch it was smoky from the kitchen in there. The food was great though. I had one of their chicken dishes with extra veggies. Awesome!
Hobbit Cafe
My friend Jenny had reccommended this place to me awhile ago for Brunch so when i was looking into a place for my birthday i decided to try it out. The menu had lots of options, healthy options and lots of dishes with avocado ( my fave) so we checked it out and i had both my bday brunches here. I love it.... and their mimosas. Check out my bday blog for some photos of the food.
W GRILL (Washington Ave)
I had seen this several times driving by and i had read about it in a Houston downtown life magazine so when Michelle was here we decided to check it out. Its a tiny little old drive thru that has been convereted into a newer drive through with coffees, breakfasts, smoothies, burgers, sandwiches, tacos, wings etc... You can call ahead, drive through or you can park and dine on their deck. I had their serano pepper burger with avocado and michelle had their fish tacos. Omg the burger was amazing. They cook everything in front of you and they put the pepper in the meat whicl its grilling. so flavorful. it was such a nice evening out too. check out the photos.
Raku ( Midtown)
I had seen this place under 24 hour fitness and had been curious about it and had read some reviews on the design of it and i was intrigued because of its use of red rope in the space. i went to dinner here a few weeks ago and was impressed in every way. our server was a little pushy to get us to order more and the priciest thing on the menu but the design was GORGEOUS, the food was great, everything down to the place setting. I wish i could remember what was ordered because it was great. I know one was a peppered tuna roll or something but yum yum was it good!
